Michelle Ransom-Hughes (she/ her)
I live and work in Naarm/ Melbourne on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people.
Recently I set up Brunswick Story Service to expand my work documenting people’s lives and memories. Having been an audio diary and longform interview enthusiast for many years I’m excited to offer this service to the public.
Alongside Radio is my independent production company for creative work of all kinds.
You can read my professional bio here but in short I embraced freelancing in 2021 after many years making highly successful radio and podcast shows for the ABC in Brisbane.
I’m proud of the work I’ve done since, including winning Best Documentary at the Australian Podcast Awards, teaching podcasting, consulting with not-for-profits, and working in television.
I aim to work with and for people who make the world more equitable, inclusive and joyful.
Current projects include a screenplay, No-Context Slide Nights, and a work for theatre. I also have a couple of incredible non-fiction series for audio and TV looking for funding.
If you’re interested in collaborating, I’d love to hear from you.
